How SnusRadar compares prices

SnusRadar ranks stores by the delivered order total: the listed product price for the quantity you select, plus that store's shipping cost for your market. Not the sticker price, and not by who pays us more.

This page describes the method in full, including the parts of the dataset that are exact and the parts that are estimated. Every guide and review on SnusRadar is built on the data described here.

What is in the dataset

SnusRadar currently tracks 356 products from 30 brands across 21 retailers, of which 217 products are in stock at the time of the last refresh. Coverage spans eight markets: the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Poland.

For every product, at every store, in every market, SnusRadar records:

  • Listed price, including quantity pricing where the store offers it, such as single can, 3-can, 5-can roll and larger bundles.
  • Shipping cost for that store in that market.
  • Free-shipping thresholds, the order value at which the shipping cost disappears.
  • Stock status, so out-of-stock listings do not clutter comparisons.

Tracking is per product, per store, per market. A store's German record and its Spanish record are separate, because the two are frequently different.

The ranking rule: delivered order total

Stores are ranked by what an order actually costs delivered, for the quantity selected, not by the price on the product page.

The reason is that sticker prices are gameable and shipping is where comparisons quietly break. A store can list the cheapest can in a market and claw it back with a high shipping cost. A slightly dearer can from another store is the better buy the moment shipping is included.

So for a given quantity, SnusRadar multiplies price by quantity, adds that store's shipping cost for the market, applies the free-shipping threshold if the order clears it, and ranks on the result. When the ranking order changes with quantity, which happens constantly around free-shipping thresholds, that is the comparison working rather than a fault in it.

How often the data updates

Prices, shipping costs, thresholds and stock are refreshed weekly, on a seven-day cache, and every comparison carries a visible last-updated date so you can see how fresh the figures are.

Between refreshes a store can change a price before SnusRadar catches it. This is why every comparison links through to the store and why the final price at the retailer always applies. If the two disagree, the store's checkout is right and the SnusRadar snapshot is stale.

What is exact, and what is estimated

Being straight about this matters more than looking comprehensive.

  • Prices. SnusRadar holds exact scraped prices for 19 of the 21 tracked retailers. Two retailers, Snus24 and VaporDNA, still carry estimated prices; their figures are marked with a tilde on the site so they are visibly different from scraped ones.
  • Shipping. Shipping figures are verified for two retailers only, PouchSpot and Snuzone. For every other retailer the shipping cost is an estimate. SnusRadar does not state an unverified shipping fee or free-shipping threshold as fact.
  • Prices are a snapshot. Every figure is the listed price at the last refresh, not a guaranteed price. The price at the retailer's checkout is the one that applies.
  • Small samples. Where only a handful of a store's products are tracked, an average across them describes that handful and not the store's whole range.

Currency

Every price on SnusRadar is displayed in EUR. United States and United Kingdom stores charge in their local currency at checkout, so the euro figure shown for those stores is a converted reference rather than a native shelf price. Conversions use the ECB reference rate of 23 July 2026 (1 EUR = 1.1392 USD = 0.85318 GBP).

How affiliate commissions work

SnusRadar is free to use and sells nothing. The site earns money through affiliate links: when you click through to a store and buy something, some stores pay a commission. This costs you nothing, and you pay the same price either way.

The obvious question is whether that money bends the rankings. It does not, by construction:

  • Rankings are computed from delivered order totals only. Commission rates are not an input, and there is no mechanism for a store to pay for position.
  • Stores with no commercial relationship are tracked and ranked by exactly the same rule. If a non-partner store is cheapest delivered, it ranks first.
  • Commission rates vary between stores, which is precisely why they are kept out of the arithmetic. A ranking that followed commission rates would be an advertisement, not a comparison.

Every review and comparison carries the same disclosure: SnusRadar may earn a commission when you click through to a store, commissions never affect how prices are ranked, and rankings are set by delivered order totals only.

What SnusRadar does not do

Knowing the limits of the method matters as much as the method.

  • No test orders. SnusRadar places no orders, tests nothing and tastes nothing. Store reviews are built from tracked prices, shipping terms and public record, not from experience.
  • No delivery times. Transit and dispatch times are not tracked for any store in any market, so SnusRadar does not publish them.
  • No ratings or review scores. Trustpilot scores, review counts and customer service quality are not tracked and are not part of any ranking.
  • No price history. SnusRadar does not publish price history, month-over-month movements or biggest-drop rankings, because it holds current listed prices rather than an observed historical series.
  • No offline retail. Gas stations, kiosks and supermarkets are outside the dataset, so every comparison describes the online market only.
  • No payment method data. Which payment methods a store accepts is not tracked.
  • No sponsored placement. There is no paid position, no featured slot inside a comparison and no way to buy a better rank.
  • No selling and no endorsement. All purchases are completed at the retailer under the retailer's terms and final prices. SnusRadar compares what things cost for adults who already use nicotine pouches, and that is the whole job.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the store's checkout price sometimes differ from SnusRadar?

The data is a weekly snapshot and stores change prices between refreshes. The retailer's final price always applies, and the next refresh picks up the change. Each comparison shows its last-updated date for exactly this reason.

Which figures should I treat with caution?

Two retailers, Snus24 and VaporDNA, carry estimated rather than scraped prices and are marked with a tilde. Shipping costs are verified only for PouchSpot and Snuzone, so for the other 19 retailers the shipping element of a delivered total is an estimate.

Can a store pay to rank higher?

No. Ranking position is computed from delivered order totals and nothing else. Commissions affect how SnusRadar is funded, not how stores are ordered.

Why is a store missing from a comparison?

Either it does not serve that market, the product is out of stock there, or the store is not tracked yet. Absence is never editorial punishment and presence is never a reward.

Does SnusRadar review stores it has no deal with?

Yes. Coverage follows what is useful to compare in each market rather than commercial relationships, and non-partner stores are ranked by the same delivered-total rule as everyone else.

Why the same product costs different amounts in different markets is covered in why nicotine pouch prices differ by country, and the live rankings sit on the product comparison pages.
